Polesworth occurs as big village and civil parish in the North Warwickshire district of Warwickshire, England. In the 2001 nose count it got the people of 8,439.
Polesworth is placed at a northern tip of Warwickshire, more or less a border using Staffordshire, it is exclusively leash miles from either Tamworth.
A River Anker and the Coventry Canal run through Polesworth, & a A5 road runs nearby. Polesworth has the train station on the West Coast Main Line, but this lone has a limited service & the station is threatened by having closure.
History
A title Polesworth is from either "Pol" meaning the 'depth of a water supply' & "Worth" meaning 'the habitation'.
Polesworth was another time a places of an Abbey. Polesworth Abbey was founded within 827 by King Egbert, but wwhen disbanded as a share of the Dissolution of the Monasteries.
Whilst this happened a lands of the Abbey were sold to Heny Goodere, who utilized the stones of the Abbey to build a mannor home - Polesworth Hall.
Polesworth Hall was the centre of culture when you took Elizabethan times, the poet Michael Drayton spent some of his education on text, & these are rumored that William Shakespeare also spent some period on text.
A Coventry Canal was built through Polesworth in the 1770s, and the village developed a coal mining and clay industry, and a people underwent zoom.
When you took a Second World War opencast coal mining devastated the encompassing countryside, which caused the Flow of any stream Anker to become diverted. a previous opencut places is okay, a public park & the flow of any stream today flows in its original course. Industry has at present never again, & Polesworth is nowadays principally the commuter vllage.
